Just a short drive away from Phuket International Airport, the Soi Dog Foundation is another top attraction for people who love animals. Rather than exotic wild creatures, however, the sanctuary cares for cats and dogs who live on the street. The dedicated staff provides medical treatments and vaccinations, and they also run a sterilization program to help manage the street animal population. Visitors are welcome to come and take a 40-minute tour of the sanctuary, which is open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturdays. Tours are free, but there is a small store where you can purchase souvenirs to help support the important work that the Soi Dog Foundation does.
