Sarasin Bridge

Iconic car & pedestrian bridge connecting Phuket province with southern Thailand.

The Sarasin Bridge is the first bridge that connected Phuket Island to mainland Thailand. Completed in 1967, it was named after Pote Sarasin, a former Thai prime minister, and replaced the ferry service as the primary link between Phuket and Phang Nga province. While no longer the main route for vehicles, the original bridge has been repurposed as a pedestrian walkway and tourist attraction, offering scenic views and a glimpse into local life.
